Activities at Green U
This family-friendly festival provides educational classes, demonstrations and hands-on activities that exemplify the small steps we can all incorporate into our lives each day to live a greener, more sustainable lifestyle. In addition to music, a farmers market, classes and activities, there will also be organizations and businesses showcasing products and services that will help keep our planet beautiful for years to come. Demonstrations will include composting classes, the best in green-living ideas and home improvement ideas that are not only good for the environment but can also help you save money.
Don’t miss our keynote speaker, Felder Rushing, who will give a free presentation on his new book Slow Gardening ™ at 11:00 am. Felder is a tenth-generation Southern gardener and retired Extension Service consumer horticulturist in Mississippi. He has hosted the syndicated “Yards and Gardens” radio call-in show since 1983, and has appeared on HGTV and the Discovery Channel. Felder has written numerous books and articles, as well as contributed photos for many leading magazines including National Geographic, Fine Gardening, Organic Gardening, Better Homes and Gardens and many more.
